The new beginnings

As those battles raged, in distant times
For all the reasons they could think of
In the name of expansion and culture
Or in the name of power and greed
The differences remain to this day
Different names for different purpose
Some say it’s the fear which brings them
Against us, and some it’s the absence
Of democracy, and all its notes
Keep playing we games with ourselves
As these dreams become elusive
Of stillness and beauty, in our land
Console we each other, with words
Of new beginning and its demise!
