Ink and Paper

Of all those moments we see not
Dispersed in time in various places
Only the reflection what lies beyond
Of our shortcomings, of our failures
They say History has all the answers
Too much a burden, upon ink and paper
To carry the old trail of blood and plunder!

  1. Those feathered pens
    that scribbled on
    those parchments scented
    from dusk till dawn
    pigeon holes that carried within
    legacies of love, and betrayals!
    Those were the glorious times
    Why did they taper?
Why there is no more a need
of a simple pen or a paper!

  2. penning the events of blood and plunder tears one’s heart but history has to be recorded for the new generations to learn from. Your poems indeed holds a representation of our past and present with a lesson or two to learn from.

And Nadeen, beautiful lines these are!

  3. Thanks Nadeen and Aadil,
At times, the only tools left as a last effort is the very last medium which we all collectively call “history”. It is amazing how our present becomes a moment in time, frozen in its heals….forever and yet alive…

  4. “Too much a burden, upon ink and paper
To carry the old trail of blood and plunder ”

Can we not “make” a history instead of merely reproducing it ???

  5. Hi guys – Nayni, we can “make” history anytime – even at this time we are – It just needs to be in a positive tone – that is what’s really missing in Pakistan!
