The Old Dictionary

Lies there in the distance an old dictionary,
The old book of words and its metaphors,
The occupants at work, from distant lands
Lies there on the table, an old note book
Words, the old occupants in new lands,
Price they will have to pay for consumption
As each day brings its worth, the beginnings
Thousands miles away, the story of bread and ale
As they begin to serve, the new arrivals
Built from fury and hunger, in search of freedom!
